Slow Cooker Bourbon Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • Meatballs
  • lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 small onion finely minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Bourbon Sauce
  • ¾ cup bourbon
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp ground mustard
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mix all meatball ingredients until just combined
  • Roll into 1½-inch meatballs
  • Brown meatballs in a skillet (optional)
  • Whisk all sauce ingredients in a bowl
  • Add meatballs to slow cooker and pour sauce over them
  • Gently stir to coat
  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours
  • Let rest 10 minutes before serving
