Total Time 40 minutes mins
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil if needed
- 2 tbsp sugar-free taco seasoning
- ½ cup diced onion
- ½ cup chopped bell pepper optional
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add onion, bell pepper, and taco seasoning. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes.
Spread the meat mixture evenly in the pie dish.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
Pour over the meat, then top with cheddar and mozzarella.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden and set.
Let cool for 5–10 minutes, then slice and top with your favorites.
Don’t overbake — the center should stay slightly soft.
Drain meat well to avoid extra grease.
Mix in cream cheese with the beef for a richer flavor.
For spice, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the mix.
Make it Southwest-style with green chilies and pepper jack cheese.
