Creole Seasoning Recipe (Authentic Blend)

Servings 0.5 cup Creole seasoning

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • teaspoons white pepper
  • teaspoons cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • teaspoons salt

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a medium mixing bowl
  • Whisk thoroughly until evenly combined
  • Taste a small pinch and adjust salt or heat if needed
  • Transfer the seasoning to an airtight jar or container
  • Let rest for 12–24 hours before use for best flavor blending

Notes

Creole seasoning is herb-forward and balanced, not overly spicy
Reduce cayenne for a mild blend or increase for extra heat
Smoked paprika can replace half the paprika for a smoky version
For low-sodium diets, reduce or omit salt and season dishes separately
Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months
Label the jar with the date for freshness tracking
Use 1–2 teaspoons per pound of meat, seafood, or vegetables
