Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

Ingredients
  

  • Dip:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff or whipped topping
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp lemon or orange zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon or orange juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • For Serving:
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Apple slices
  • Grapes
  • Pineapple chunks
  • Melon cubes
  • Any favorite fresh fruits

Instructions
 

  • Remove cream cheese from fridge 30 minutes before making
  • Beat softened cream cheese in medium bowl with electric mixer 2-3 minutes until fluffy
  • Scrape down bowl sides
  • Add powdered sugar, beat on low then medium 1-2 minutes until smooth
  • Add vanilla, citrus zest, citrus juice, salt
  • Beat until incorporated
  • Add marshmallow fluff or whipped topping
  • Beat on medium until completely combined and fluffy
  • Check consistency—should cling to fruit but be easy to dip
  • Add milk if too thick, powdered sugar if too thin
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or flavor
  • Transfer to serving bowl, cover
  • Refrigerate at least 30 minutes
  • While chilling, wash and cut fresh fruit
  • Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning
  • Place dip in center of platter, arrange fruit around
  • Serve chilled

Notes

  • Cream cheese must be room temperature
  • Don't overmix—just until combined
  • Chill before serving—dip needs to firm
  • Make 1-2 days ahead for the best flavor
  • Store up to 5 days refrigerated
  • Not freezer-friendly
  • Use fresh fruit only—not frozen
  • Prevent apple browning with lemon juice
  • Adjust sweetness to taste
  • Can add cocoa, peanut butter, or cinnamon
