Cilantro Lime Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves lightly packed (stems trimmed)
  • ½ cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice plus more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 –3 tablespoons water to adjust consistency

Instructions
 

  • Add cilantro, yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic, lime juice, and lime zest to a blender or food processor
  • Blend for 15–20 seconds until mostly smooth
  • With the blender running, drizzle in the olive oil
  • Add salt and black pepper
  • Add water one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached
  • Taste and adjust lime juice or salt if needed
  • Stop blending as soon as the sauce is smooth

Notes

Use mostly cilantro leaves; too many stems can make the sauce bitter
Add lime juice gradually—flavor intensifies after chilling
Do not over-blend, as this can cause bitterness
Sauce thickens slightly in the refrigerator
Store in an airtight container and refrigerate up to 4 days
Pork-free and halal-friendly
For a thinner drizzle, add extra water or olive oil
For a thicker dip, use Greek yogurt and reduce water
