Baked Whole Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  

  • 3 pounds whole chicken wings patted completely dry
  • 1 tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder
  • teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Pat wings very dry with paper towels
  • Place wings in a large bowl
  • Add baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and smoked paprika
  • Drizzle with olive oil
  • Toss until wings are evenly coated
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C)
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top
  • Lightly grease the rack
  • Arrange wings in a single layer, not touching
  • Bake for 25 minutes
  • Flip wings
  • Bake another 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy
  • Broil for 2–3 minutes if extra crispiness is desired
  • Rest wings for 5 minutes before serving

Notes

Always use baking powder, not baking soda
Dry wings thoroughly for maximum crispiness
Do not overcrowd the pan
Serve plain or toss with sauce after baking
Reheat in oven or air fryer to keep wings crispy
