Air Fryer Filet Mignon Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 filet mignon steaks 6–8 oz each, 1½–2 inches thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1 tablespoon butter optional, for finishing
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme optional
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic optional

Instructions
 

  • Remove steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking
  • Pat steaks completely dry with paper towels
  • Brush both sides with oil
  • Season evenly with salt, black pepper, and optional garlic powder or smoked paprika
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (205°C) for 3–5 minutes
  • Place steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket
  • Cook for 5–6 minutes
  • Flip steaks
  • Cook another 4–8 minutes until desired doneness
  • Remove steaks from air fryer
  • Top with butter, herbs, and garlic if using
  • Loosely tent with foil
  • Rest for 5 minutes before serving

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for best results
Medium-rare doneness is ideal for filet mignon
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket
Always rest the steak to keep it juicy
Oil is best for cooking; butter is best for finishing
